Ethos

My name is Zoe Aguerreberry (agueb for short) originally from Argentina I moved over to London when I was 3; Ive been drawing and painting since I was super young influenced by my grandad who was also an artist. I grew up with a lot of art around me and always felt drawn to it. I spent a lot of my childhood honing in on painting and developing my technical skill, I fell in love with acrylics and pencil drawings

I went on to study fashion design at university whilst still painting and growing my art career throughout my time there, in my final year I decided to make the leap into getting my own art studio where I made and sold paintings , dropped out of uni and began to pursue my tattoo career through the help of another tattoo artist that worked in the same building as my art studio was in ( @ulaluart on instagram , she is the best).

I have been tattooing ever since , a lot of my artwork is based on nostalgia , rebirth and is presented a lot through springtime themes, rabbits being symbolic for rebirth , the changes of the seasons bringing on new life after winter , swans being symbolic of the cycle of life and death. I was diagnosed with transverse myelitis when I was 3 and had just moved to London , this caused me to become paralysed and later having to relearn how to walk in my new body , my legs don’t work the same as they used to , and this always caused me to have a lot of conflicting emotions about change, the way my body was given to me in this lifetime and how to navigate life in a disabled body living in an able bodied world. I love the symbolism of spring and rebirth as I used my painting in this theme for so long as an escape from the negative thoughts of myself , and I now get to use the same imagery for my tattoos and I love it.

when you come for a tattoo session with me its more than just a tattoo , its more than just a human printer giving you a design. I was taught to and really value a slow tattooing approach , embracing the entire session however you choose to lead it / would like me to lead it - I can take as much control of the drawing as you would like , and I like to draw all of my pieces up in session , this way you are assured that you are getting your own unique piece that no-one else has , with your own unique session where you can unlock / reveal as much about yourself as you wish and leave with a conversation you may have been needing for a while , a different perspective , or just simply a tattoo that is completely yours forever. <3
